A YOGA expert who broke 110 bones after falling while attempting an extreme pose on the edge of her balcony says she's feeling "100 per cent better".

Mexican student Alexa Terrazas, 23, hit the headlines when a photo of her balancing upside down on the glass railing went viral.

Seconds later, she fell 82 ft and landed on the building's driveway in San Pedro, Mexico.

According to her friends and relatives, the student underwent several operations to rebuild her knees, face and ankles.

Terrazas shared an audio recording where she announced: "I am 100 percent better than ever."

After the accident at the end of August, she said that her progress has surprised everyone and "even the doctors are shocked".

Terrazas said: "For the first in a month and a half, I am able to eat on my own.

"As I told my dad, I am continually moving forwards."

In response to the online support, Terrazas said: "I really want to thank you for all the prayers and good vibes.

"Thanks for your support, I have managed to progress a lot."

Family member Ivette Lopez told local media: "There are some painful therapy sessions, but she is always persisting and has a healthy attitude.

"Of course, she loses spirit from time to time, which is natural, but she always manages to lift herself up again."

Lopez added that "the doctors are surprised every day" and "Alexa is able to speak perfectly, she is laughing a lot and always asks the doctors questions".

After doctors reconstructed both her shattered legs, Terrazas was initially told that she would not be able to walk again for three years and would need several further operations.

After her fall, neighbours  said they were used to seeing Terrazas perform the dangerous stunt from her balcony's edge.

The Nuevo Leon Attorney General's office reportedly opened an investigation to determine if the balcony's rail had any structural damages.

However, it has been determined that the fall was the result of an accident.

Previously a British tourist was rushed to hospital after falling from a Magaluf hotel balcony while allegedly trying to take a poo.

The 20-year-old man was in a serious condition after falling roughly 25 feet from a sixth-floor balcony, landing on his head.
